The 1st Workshop on “HEALTH TOURISM – Partnership with the Swedish Kidney Association” which took place on Monday, June 18th 2018 in the main premises of Biomedicine Group of Healthcare Companies was successfully completed. The workshop was co-organized by CrossBorderMedCare, the International Patient Center of Biomedicine Group of Healthcare Companies and AVEDIS Aviation / SAS Scandinavian Airlines Systems,
Biomedicine Group taking into account the Health Tourism’s potential growth in our country as well the fact that CrossBorderMedCare is the only company in Greece that is certified from Temos International for its “Quality in International Medical Travel Coordination” organized this Workshop, laying the foundations for the Group’s entry into the Health Tourism.
Greece is an ideal destination, as the climate and the mild temperatures allow nature’s exploration throughout all four seasons of the year . Our country’s history and monuments are among the most important in the world. Moreover, Greece has one of the finest and healthiest cuisines, since the benefits of the Mediterranean diet have been recognized worldwide.
The Swedish Kidney Association, that has more than 4.500 members, was represented by Mr. Hakan Hedman, President of the Swedish Kidney Association, and Mrs. Tina Pajunen, Vice-President of the Swedish Kidney Association, while the Swedish Ambassador in Greece, Mrs. Charlotte Sammelin, honored the workshop with her presence.
The Workshop opened with the welcome speeches of Mr. George Spanos, Vice President of the Biomedicine Group of Healthcare Companies, Mr. Georgios Stylianidis, Managing Director of CrossBorderMedCare and Ms Charlotte Sammelin, Swedish Ambassador in Greece.
The Workshop continued with following presentations:
- Presentation of the Biomedicine Group of Healthcare Companies by Mr. Prodromos Iliadis, Commercial Director of the Group
- Presentation of CrossBorderMedCare by Mr. Georgios Stylianidis, Managing Director
- Presentation of the Hemodiolysis Unit of BioClinic Athens by Mrs. Konstantina Kakalerti, Scientific Manager of Hemodiolysis Unit BioClinic Athens
- Presentation of the Hemodiolysis Unit of BioClinic Thessaloniki by Mr. Apostolos Tsiantoulas, Nephrologist of BioClinic Thessaloniki
- Presentation of Travel Services by Mr. Alexandros Averkiadis, Managing Director of Avedis Aviation / SAS, Scandinavian Airlines Systems
An open discussion followed, focused on Health Tourism growth by hosting the Swedish Kidney Association members in our country, ensuring both their medical care while visiting our country as well as their travel organization and activities during their staying, always personalized according to the needs of the participants.
In the workshop were attendees by both Biomedicine Group and Avedis Aviation / SAS, Scandinavian Airlines Systems, namely Mr. Athanasios Vlachos, Director of BioClinic Athens, Mrs. Ourania Sereti, Director of Nursing Services of BioClinic Athens, Mrs. Evdokia Karanikolaou, Supervisor of the Hemodialysis Unit of BioClinc Athens, Mr. Ioannis Vlassopoulos, Director of BioClinic Thessaloniki, Mr. Niko Ek, General Manager of Europe, Sales & Marketing SAS, Scandinavian Airlines Systems and Mrs. Pamela Averkiadis, Marketing Director AVEDIS Aviation.
The Workshop continued with guided tours of Mr. Hakan Hedman and Mrs. Tina Pajunen at the Hemodialysis Unit of BioClinic Athens, the Ampelokipi Diagnostic Center as well as at the Clinical Laboratories of the Group and was completed with lunch where all participants expressed their very positive impressions from the workshop, aiming to the launch of a mutually beneficial cooperation.
