Dr. Avzotis graduated from the 23rd Lyceum of Athens and studied at the Medical School of the University of Ioannina. After the internal medicine section of the specialty he gained a first experience of clinical and interventional cardiology at the University Hospital of Edinburgh. He completed the specialization of cardiology at the “Hellenic Red Cross” Hospital where he continued with a trainee in interventional cardiology.
He worked in the cardiology clinic and the hemodynamic department of the Metropolitan Hospital. He has specialized in interventional cardiology at the Maastricht Academic Hospital of the Netherlands based on international standards. On his return he was appointed scientific officer of the Hemodynamic Department of the Metropolitan Hospital.
Since December 2010 he has been the Director of the Hemodynamic Department of Bioclinic Athens. He is a member of the Hellenic Cardiology Society and the European Union of Interventional Cardiology.
