24H Emergency Call:

Vein disorders are treatable

VASCULAR SURGERYArticle by Konstantinos Xiromeritis MD, Vascular Surgery.

Unfortunately, vein disease doesn’t go away on its own and will only get worse over time – making future treatment more extensive.

Although approximately 45 percent of men suffer from vein disease, it’s still women who are mainly affected. And because these women might be busy juggling the demands of their career and family, they often put off treatment.

The good news is that with today’s advanced technology, vein disorders are treatable through safer and more effective techniques that don’t require surgery.

Essentially, varicose veins are produced when small valves in veins break and cause the blood in them to flow in the wrong direction. This causes the veins to bulge. There are many myths around vein disease.

Just remember that no matter what the cause of your varicose veins is, we’re experts in the field and will do our best to help you both understand and treat the problem.

Patients should choose a physician who treats a wide spectrum of venous disorders. Particularly important is finding a specialist who is skilled in all forms of sclerotherapy and endovenous laser treatment, a combined approach that ensures the physician can treat a wide spectrum of leg vein disorders.
