How your iphone can help you out in case of an emergency
For years many people have been creating an ICE (In Case of an Emergency ) contact in their phone, so that in case that they are not responsive in a medical situation the emergency response unit then can look up your phone book and find out who is your IN CASE OF EMERGENCY contact.
However when your phone is locked or perhaps with a pass code or touch id, how is that emergency responder going to find that information?
Well thankfully Apple has now built in a way that they can find that,right in to the IOS. The HEALTH app
I am going to show you how you do it with the help of images and smart steps.
Step 1. (Unlock your phone / tap Medical ID)
Lock your phone and swipe to unlock it. You notice that in the lower left corner there is an emergency button that the responder can tap on and if they do that, it brings up the ability for them to make a 911 emergency phone call or you will see in a lower left corner that there is a medical ID, so if we tap on that we can see an alternative.
Step 2. (Set up the Emergency Medical ID)
We are going to set up this emergency Id to insure that your loved ones are notified in case of medical emergency OR show you how to help the responder to call your advanced medical center (CrossBorderMedCare).
unlock your iphone- find the preinstalled app HEALTH that it contains all the information that we need.
- open up your Health App and the first time you open it you might see some data that is tracking your activity but in the lower right hand corner is that medical id tab .
- tap on the Medical Id and it asking us if we want to set up one, so Yes we do, tap on CREATE Medical Id and by creating this you can enter the information that you like and ADD THE EMERGENCY CONTACT.
As long as you arrive in Greece , you can ADD as en EMERGENCY CONTACT CrossBorderMedCare Emergency line 6985 11 2000.

Further you can add to “Medical Conditions” or “Medical Notes” a little note to make the responder aware that i have an advanced medical record or anything else that they have to know… medicines you take, allergies, reactions or anything that concern your health…
For example “See Advanced Medical Directive in Wallet…” so they know to look for that in case of emergency situation. These are all the things that you can put in to your medical ID , so the responder can see that.
By setting up your medical ID in the I phone, with these simple steps can save a life… your life.. It’s a nice feature that it is build in to the IOS and now you can alert your medical responders to give you the best care in case of an emergency especially in your holidays in Greece.
